If you’re susceptible to the great resignation, which a lot of companies are, unlocking empathy in your own organization is the key. And if you haven't done it yet, then you’re missing out. Empathy is the difference-maker when it comes to employees and it’s a currency you can spend freely in a time where a lot of organizations are struggling.
Since my goal is to equip and encourage you to be the most impactful leader that you can be, I thought it would be helpful to bring on an expert in the topic of empathy and leadership to share more with us today.
Marcy Klipfel is the Chief Engagement Officer at Businessolver. For the last seven years, Businessolver has released the State of The Workplace Empathy Report that examines the behaviors and benefits that make workplaces empathetic. As an experienced HR leader Marcy oversees all aspects of HR, driving a high-performance culture at Businessolver.
In this episode, we discuss what empathy actually means, why some leaders struggle with empathy, and what they can do to strengthen their empathy muscle. We'll also chat about the 2022 State of the Workplace Empathy Report, and why empathy ratings in the workplace are at an all-time low. We also discuss some practical steps organizational leaders can take to help develop a culture that includes empathy as well and more empathetic leaders in their workplaces going forward.
